About the Course

Would you like to partner with God and others to bring restoration, healing and wholeness to the nations? People of all cultures experience the pain and suffering that comes from living in a broken world. Whether that brokenness is within the individual, the family, the culture or the nation, healing is a crucial part of the discipleship process.

What happens in this course?

You will begin with three months of classroom experience that utilizes teaching, discussions, small group sharing, ministry practice, personal reflection, worship and prayer. You will be able to develop and apply your skills in the context of the safety and support of your FBC community. The field assignment, taken the following quarter, will provide enriching cross cultural opportunities and challenges as you work with your team to facilitate healing, restoration and wholeness.

Training Phase (3 months)

SKILL DEVELOPMENT (DOING)

In your training phase you will learn from spiritual leaders with years of experience and put it into practice.
  • Understanding Biblical foundations for ministry
  • Partnering with the Holy Spirit in the ministry process
  • Learning specific ministry tools
  • Implementing specific ministry tools
  • Gaining Biblical foundations for the discipleship process
Outreach Phase (3 months)

Travel the world with a team and partner with Jesus to change lives by meeting needs and sharing the gospel.

In this area of focus, students will be exposed to and able to demonstrate through speaking, writing, or other creative means their Biblical understanding of:
  • Knowing the work of the Cross and the work of the Holy Spirit in redemption and healing. 
  • Knowing the nature of the Trinity; God’s character and ways. 
  • Understanding our role as a co-laborer in the healing process and developing spiritual maturity. 
  • Identity, Sonship and Daughterhood, sexual and gender identity, strengths, and gifts. 
  • Repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation in relation to maturity and healing. 
  • Recognizing the blockages and schemes of the enemy and means of reclaiming God’s design for our lives. 
  • Understanding family relationships and dynamics. 
  • Understanding trauma, what it is, and its effect on the individual, family, and society.
  • Understanding the importance of relationship, connection, and attachment on healthy growth and development. 
  • Understanding the principles (content and approach) of the Divine Plumbline.
