Find us on:

It’s about more than just medicine. We believe that Jesus cares about and wants to heal the “whole person.” We desire to create a place where healthcare professionals, and those interesting in the medical field, can learn to use their skills and talents for His Kingdom, while also learning about and administering God’s heart for healing.

Healthcare professionals are welcome to come deepen their relationship with God and be further equipped in making Him known. Our founding scripture comes from Revelation 22:1 & 2, where it refers to the leaves of the Tree of Life being for the healing of the nations. In addition to that passage, 1 Thessalonians 5 speaks about being sanctified spirit, soul and body. Other Scriptures challenge us to health and holiness. Healing to the whole person is the approach we see Jesus using in the Gospels. He healed both from the inside out and the outside in. This school will help students to examine and enter into these other dimensions of healing.

At the completion of the classroom phase, students have the opportunity to ‘make God known’ in the outreach phase. The Gospel comes alive as students step out in faith to preach the good news, baptize new believers and heal the sick (Mark 16:15-18). Outreach is an exhilarating time of risk and adventure, as teams serve with local believers: transforming lives and impacting society with the love of Jesus Christ.

Emily Valler BSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, School Leader Medical DTS 2019

Emily’s journey with YWAM began in August 2016 when her best friend’s father asked her if she had considered applying to the Medical DTS. After prayer and consideration, she did and her DTS took her into the Middle East and last year she lead a team into South East Asia. This year, she is excited that The LORD called her to co-lead the Medical DTS.

Her life chapter is Psalm 2… “ask of Me and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance and the utter most parts of the earth for thy possession…” When people ask what country she feels called to, she tells them, “the big round blue and green one.” Her passion is training up the generations and seeing captives set free. She is definitely a free spirit and seeks out adventures. On the weekends you will usually find her exploring the island, swimming, or hiking. Some of her other interests include baking, cooking, and trying out new restaurants. She is a registered nurse, certified in trauma, burn, disaster relief, wilderness medicine and more.
