Fees & Payment
- Mailbox fees MUST be paid in advance to ensure usage of the mailbox. As a courtesy, the Mailroom will notify you via email and/or a slip in your mailbox approx. 15-days prior to the due date.
- Failure to pay mailbox fees will result in temporary suspension of a mailbox, and a $10 "Late Fee" will be payable in order to resume service
- If payment is not received within 30 days of a due date, the mailbox will be closed. All mail will be returned to sender.
Keys
- A $10 refundable deposit must be paid PER KEY issued. This will be returned upon receipt of the original key.
- Mailbox keys are NOT permitted to be copied.
Receipt of Mail
- Mail must be collected at your mailbox, with your key. It is NOT the mailroom clerk's responsibility to check your mailbox 'over the counter', and
any such requests will incur a $1.00 fee.
- Prior to outreach or traveling off-island, as a courtesy please inform the Mailroom staff. You can do this online at ywamkona.org/staffcheckout.
- Mail or packages will NOT be given to a third-party without prior authorization to

Address Format
- Once assigned a mailbox number, you must use this in either Line 1 or Line 2 of the address. If the Mailbox # is missing from a letter or package, the Mailroom can not guarantee that it is forwarded to you.
- For a hypothetical Box "123", the correct address format for a mailbox would be: (Line 1) 75-5851 Kuakini Hwy #123 OR, (Line 1) 75-5851 Kuakini Hwy AND (Line2) "Box 123", "Ste 123" or "Apt 123".
Business Usage Not Permitted
- A mailbox may ONLY be used for personal use or for receipt of official U of N, Kona mail only. NO PRIVATE BUSINESS USE IS PERMITTED. Mail received to a personal business entity will be returned, and the mailbox may be closed.
Sharing of Mailboxes
- A maximum of 2 listed recipients is permitted per 'personal mailbox'
- For family mailboxes, this is limited to the members of the household
- You are NOT permitted to allow others to use your mailbox unless they are listed on the account. Mail addressed to non account holders will be returned to sender.
Package Notification
- The Mailroom aims to notify you either by email, or SMS of any non-letter mail. This is a service provided by a third-party, and this service is not guaranteed
Purpose
- Mailboxes are designed to be used by active staff or ministries of University of the Nations, Kona (YWAM Kona); University of the Nations, or Youth With A Mission.
- If you are no longer active University or YWAM staff, your mailbox may be closed or ineligible for renewal.
Short-Term Departures & Absences
- You *MUST* inform the Mailroom if you intend on having an extended absence from the University. We will provide a courtesy hold of your mail for up to 3 months.
Accessing Mail
- You MUST use your provided mailbox key to access mail. The Mailroom staff may, at their discretion, hand over mail (25c tip is encouraged!)
- Mail or packages will NOT be given to a third-party without prior authorization to

Suspension of Use
- The Mailroom reserves the right to suspend access to, or the mailroom, packages, or mailboxes at any time, without prior notice.
Permanent Mailbox Closure & Forwarding
- The Mailroom may, upon request, forward USPS First-class letters to a new address for a period of up to 3 months. There is no charge for this service.
- Any mail received after this date will be returned to sender
- Packages (from any provider) can NOT be forwarded
- You may NOT use the "USPS Change of Address" tool, as the University is listed as a business address, not a personal address
