While traditional Universities will teach you the theory, here in the UofN we believe in learning by doing. In this intensive three-month program you will have lectures focused on various styles of writing taught by best-selling authors and experienced writers who will share the wisdom and expertise God has given them. Daily writing assignments, discussion groups, and a Christian worldview are woven throughout the program. Although many of the communication principles taught are universal, this course emphasizes the conventions of writing in the English language.

Matias & Samantha Arredondo

Matias and Samantha Arredondo are from Chile and the U.S. respectively. After meeting at the SOW in Texas, they married and followed God’s call to Hawaii. In 2016 they ran their first full School of Writing in Kona and have continued to offer the course every year since then. Their heart is to equip the next generation, from every nation and language, to communicate effectively for God, so in 2019 the school will be offered in both Ywam Kona (English) and Ywam San José (Bi-lingual) as they follow this vision. Their shared passion is to see Christian authors all over the world impacting the secular industry through the area of fiction. With this in mind, Samantha is working on an allegorical fantasy while Matias is finishing his own time-travel thriller.
