Outreach Placement Phase (12 Weeks)

Apply your knowledge and skills in key locations where there is an urgent need and opportunity for maternal health workers.

Outreach locations are carefully selected places where there is a great need for the Gospel, an urgent need in the area of maternal health, and a skilled worker to partner with. You will choose prayerfully with school leaders which nation and outcome best fits your individual calling.

Your outreach will give you opportunities to serve existing and new pregnancy centers and ministries, teach Childbirth Education classes and educational workshops, assist women as doulas in births, and serve postpartum mothers and babies. In some cases, you will be able to fulfill the requirements for the CBE & Doula Certifications during your outreach.

Our current location options are strategic partnerships within YWAM where we are helping to fuel the maternal health movement. Our locations in the past have been places such as Guinea-Bissau, South Africa, India, Nepal, Philippines & Malaysia. This year we will prayerfully consider where God is leading this group of students.

After the Lifebearers School & outreach, we want to support your next steps! You can apply for a 3-month practicum in Kona to gain hands-on experience toward certifications like doula work, teaching CBE, or providing prenatal/postpartum support. This practicum also counts toward a U of N Associates in Maternal Health. For more info, email us! If you’re interested in midwifery, join our mentorship program to pursue an online degree while apprenticing with a midwife. You can also use your skills on existing teams or pioneer new pregnancy ministries in the nations!
