What happens in this course?

You will be equipped to be a teacher/discipler with YWAM Symphony of Hope—a global YWAM ministry to reach and empower children through music education.

Training Phase (3 months)
The main focus instrument of this course is the violin. This course is designed for the beginner, however, there is also an intermediate and advanced track for the experienced player. Entrance into the intermediate and advanced tracks is by audition only and course leader recommendation. In addition to music training on beginning, intermediate, and advanced violin; beginning guitar, beginning keyboard, and indigenous instrument training will also be included in this course. The training phase of this course includes two 3 month courses – Music Education and Missions l (3 months) followed by Music Education and Missions ll (3 months) and then a combined international outreach (3 months).

Outreach Phase (3 months)

YWAM Symphony of Hope in the nations

Each location of YWAM Symphony of Hope throughout the world is set up with classrooms, computers, screens, and internet so that music education, evangelism, and discipleship classes can continue from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world long after the outreach team is gone. The main goal of the outreach phase of this course is to put all of the training acquired during both lecture phases (MEM l – 3 months) and (MEM ll – 3 months) to practical use on the field by pioneering the ministry of YWAM Symphony of Hope to the at-risk children and young people of the world in as many nations and language groups as possible during outreach.

This course is the first in a series of progressive study courses that can lead to a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Missions from the University of the Nations. These progressive courses include all the essential course material for a Bachelor of Music Education from any other university, plus the practical application of all these skills in missions worldwide!

YWAM Symphony of Hope founder, Doug McClure, was a professional cellist and music educator for many years in the symphony orchestras of America and the solo stages of the world.
